Just a Memory
My mother died suddenly,
I didn't even get tell her goodbye
I didn't get to thank her for her many good deeds
And tender care of all of my needs
They came and took her away
Before my Dad and I could pray
And think of all the little things that I had wanted to say
It happened in early December
With sorrowful goodbyes from everyone she knew
She was laid to rest in a beautiful dress of satin
I still visit her often, although it's only in my mind
And recall wonderful memories of her,
You know the lasting kind.
