 UNE LARME

Nos regards embrumés se font source avouée.

Ne plus pouvoir cacher, me voici écroué

D’un filet qui ruisselle en une simple larme.

 PAT

Pat never spoke up

Too afraid of what people would say

Fake smiles, fake laughs

He just wanted to get through the day

Pat didn’t even want to stay

Until they met.

I CAN'T LOSE YOU LIKE THIS

This night isn’t the same

I'm not what you’re looking at

I'm not who you’re talking to

I tell you what’s on my mind

You apologize

But you shouldn’t

The smiles fade

I can’t lose you like this

Not before we share a kiss

But our late nights aren’t the same

I’m afraid of what will come if the night ends.

THE BENCH

I sat next to you On the sidelines You were close like a star Never too near, always too far. Words in my throat were left ajar Your hand next to mine Has forever left a print No matter the summer or season or year I know i would always want you here. Paolo Driussi

 90

I am here,

Unable to speak or to understand it thoroughly.

First sights were my mother's dying smile

And some benches that weren't our own.

Then my father who that day

Had a poorly knotted tie.

A few months later

I realized that cancer was guiding my sister back home

Before I could remember his invisible voice.

The fleeting vistas flick by

Like fireflies without a point of view.

All roads are timeless finds for those who leave.

 WHEN EVER IN DOUBT

Sometimes I feel depressed

But I know at best

I'm better off than some

You can look at me

And you'll still see

A smile upon my face

And now a requiem for

What could have been.

WHAT I THINK TO MYSELF AT NIGHT

With every bad there is good.
At least that is what I think to myself at night.
And I wish I could say just how much that I genuinely cared.
