Only a few days until Christmas!

Snowflakes gently fall, Lights on the tree softly glow, Peace in every heart. Paolo Driussi.

 Christmas Time

In the glow of Christmas lights, A man sits alone, through the silent nights. His heart echoes in the empty space, Yearning for warmth, a familiar face.

Snowflakes dance, but he feels no cheer, For holiday joy seems to disappear. In the laughter of others, he's left to roam, A solitary figure, in a festive home.

Yet hope whispers in the candle's flame, That loneliness, too, shall have its name. For in the quiet, he finds his peace, A moment to heal, where sorrows cease.

Christmas isn’t quite the same as before

Santa’s list is now automated with ChatGPT,
He works from Zoom, sipping tea, no need to explore.
His reindeer are drones, buzzing like bees,
No more silver sleighs in the night,
The elves tried to unionize, now they are free,
Amazon handles the gifts, all wrapped tight.

 That Blind Presence

Do you sometimes feel that there's
Someone with you?
Listening to every thought, even though
There's no one there?
Whether you are alone or among others,
There's that blind presence.
If you're one that feels
There's a someone
You're really not alone.

 WEDNESDAY EVENING

The sun peeks through limbs of foliage, Casting a rippling glow on the lake. The shimmering reflection is distorted By the babbling of the frolicking water With a wink, a star blows a tender kiss On this Wednesday evening of December. Paolo Driussi

I can't express my feelings

I am sad for no reason

Or maybe because summer's gone

And it is becoming colder every day and it is raining

Yesterday, I wrote a letter to you saying that

I'm sorry I can't express my feelings

Because I am scared or better

I am ashamed that I feel so insecure

I attempted to explain

But I don't know how to say it

I love you so much and

I can't tell you.

 NOVEMBER

Yesterday you polished up the skies,

Drawing the cloud curtain off the sun's face,

Letting him to scatter his rays all over

And beams painted gold spots on fallen leaves.

I hope there's a passable mountain trail

To climb winter months to come, then sink

Into spring flowers on their other side.

Paolo Driussi.
