I'll crush the negative thoughts that pull me down

I will brush the black and white dots in vibrant hues,

Descry and espouse every opportunity that comes.

I'll try until my zeal for success blazes bright.

"Wait until I get back.

I give you something to read".

"Don't be running in and out that door.

Letting the heat out of the kitchen".

"Button your coat better, if you go out.

Have you got money enough?

Don't come back late".

"We'll have pizza for dinner"

Nights align

Like in a dream.

I am a wayward soul

On the lonely stroll.

A phantom escape,

A quiet river.

I am afraid  shadows weld

 Uptown Buses

There is no sun, so little hope,

There are no gardens,

But plenty seeds raised to die

In watered sorrows drown.

Buses go uptown

To shiny places,

To uptown people,

Six p.m., afternoon dying

Everything

goes unnoticed by senses dulled,

The day goes down,

Another, and another,

Colored pained refrain.

 Drunk

His words are bitter 

But his thoughts are true;

Only the drunk can tell the truth.

His incoherent words fall to the floor

Followed closely by his slouched figure

And salty tears.

He sleeps on the bathroom floor,

Soaked in the mess he's created.

You and I were stories of which

I had no memory of at all,

So it had to be

Someone else and never really me,

As you claim it was.

Every breeze carries to my mind

The truth and I am captive in your eyes

Even as they wander.
